Amelia Clarke trained at the Howard University Department of Theatre Arts before completing an MFA in Acting at NYU Tisch. She began her career in regional theatre across the United States, performing at venues such as Steppenwolf, Arena Stage, and the Guthrie, where she became known for her commanding presence and richly layered character work.

She has also contributed to several community-based theatre projects focused on storytelling and cultural heritage.
